Keith Saylor saylor Saylor saylor (verified owner) –
sound great
Paul White (verified owner) –
Definitely different sound. Balanced and loud for bluegrass. Seemed to tune quicker and stay in tune with only minor adjustments
Steve Barry (verified owner) –
baby taylor and ovation balladeer both stronger solo guitars going from 10’s to these wound 11’s. Parlor guitar is probably next. If I like a string, I don’t keep looking.

Loaded country strings on Gibson blueridge, clear and warm sound , easy on fingers. Play time will tell, but I think I may have found a keeper. Have not had chance to try bluegrass strings yet .
Todd Autry (verified owner) –
Just put them on my Yamaha jumbo, and they added volume and test tone. Will certainly buy them again.
Grandy (verified owner) –
Put them on my Gibson AJ last week and so far am pleased with the sound. I was using light strings before and can feel the difference in these stings being a mix of light and medium strings. No sure if I like the heavier strings, but will give them a fair trial. So far I’m satisfied.

I have the Bluegrass strings on my 2006 D18 Authentic 1937. So far they are great. Hopefully they have good longevity. I’ve always used Elixir Nanoweb Med.

Like them

It’s rarely I string up my Huss & Dolton DRH and feel instantly connected with such clear sustain and tone. These strings are a revelation.
Brennen Richards (verified owner) –

I ordered 2 sets of the Bluegrass strings to try on my Martin HD-28 and D-15. I’ve been playing them for several hours everyday for 3 weeks now and they still sound great. I like the intermediate size between the lights and mediums too.
Jeff Varga (verified owner) –
These I like WAY better than the country strings. Good projection and clarity. The feel is much better as well. It never occurred to me the the core plays a significant role in string making. These I put on my OM-21, and was/am loving the sound I’m getting.
Kim Tucker (verified owner) –
These Bluegrass strings are awesome! I bought 2 sets. I put one on my Collins D1H and a set on my Martin HD28V. They stretched in quickly and are solid. The tone is wonderful, balanced and clear. This is the first set of lighter strings that I am happy with. I will order again.

I’ve tried alot of strings over the years but these are by far the best. Once I tuned my guitar, there was very little stretching. That’s what I like about these strings. Like the old saying goes, you’ve tried the rest, now try the best.

Great tone and playability

After tying multiple brands in my quest to find the strings my Guild D-55 felt most alive with the search may have ended. The Woodtone Bluegrass gave my guitar more projection, balance, warmth, and bell-like trebles with great sustain. I never thought I would find a real contender with Elixirs PB but we have a real heavyweight contender with Woodtone at a better price point!!!!
Tripp (verified owner) –
Put them on my Martin and they sounded great. Love the feel of them as I went up and down the fret board. Very happy with the tone in generated. I like them a lot. I plan to buy more after I test the Country set. I have a feeling it’s going to be hard to choose between the two. Are you planning to make any for 12 string guitars?
Woodtone Strings –
Awesome, thanks Trip! Glad you like the Bluegrass Series! You can’t go wrong with the Country Series either… they’re pretty similar but a little lighter to the touch because of the lighter tension. I think you’ll like them also. Yep, we’ll be manufacturing some strings for 12 string guitar fairly soon — probably will have them available within a few months or so. You’ll find them on our website when we have them ready to go. Thanks for the review!

Nice tone, nice projection, nice balance- fully satisfied.

I put the bluegrass series on my Martin. I think these strings were made for this guitar! Best tone I’ve ever gotten. Will be using these strings for a long time. If you play Country/Bluegrass, you gotta get a set of Woodtone strings
Ted Kuhn –
Been playing bluegrass for decades and have tried a lot of strings. This is by far the best I’ve tried. sounds great right when you put them on, keeps sounding better as the days go by. I highly recommend it.
Mark Robinson –
I’ve just stung my Matin Custom Dread with these to try out. I have found my new favorite string. It crosses over to any other genre besides country/bluegrass. Fine for soft finger style.
Brandon –
Love these strings! Loud clear and warm sound, happy customer!
